What Is Jesse's House?
Jesse's House is a non-profit organization
that grew out of the recognized need for a children's emergency shelter in North Georgia.
The combined efforts of Cumming/Forsyth Council on Youth, and Concerned Citizens led
to the opening of our current home.
Jesse's House is a place where
teenage girls come to get help. It is a loving place that shows you kindness, love,
trust and how to be a family. It also shows teenage girls responsibility. Someone is
always there for us when we need them. No matter why we are here, they don't judge us
of our past and they give us a chance to prove who we are and can be. They help us succeed
in our goals and in our lives as well.
Jesse's House is a good place
for girls who don't have a great chance in life and who need a little direction to be
on the right track. They care a lot about us and what are plans are when we leave. They
have taught me how to trust people again. They have taught me to be a better person
and most of all how to be me!

Admission Requirements
To ensure a safe and stable living
environment. We accept children who:
- Do not post a threat to themselves
or others.
- Are not addicted to drugs.
- Are not pregnant.
What We Do
Upon arrival at the shelter, each
child's case is reviewed by a multi-disciplinary professional team. The team works with
each resident to develop a treatment plan that meets her medical, psychological and
educational needs.
Group and individual counseling
is provided to address their fears. We help them cope with their immediate crisis and
of being separated from their families.
Medical and psychological services
are provided as needed.
The shelter follows the "Extended
Family Model". This includes life management skills and household responsibilities.
Our goal is to help prepare the children for whatever their next placement may be and
increase their chances of success.
