Mission Statement
Jesse’s House original mission was to provide emergency shelter care for female youth who have been physically, sexually and/or emotionally abused and neglected - with the goal of providing long-term healing through the treatment of physical, emotional, mental, academic and spiritual needs.
As a result of revised DHR guidelines, Jesse’s House now serves youth for a period greater than 90 days. This accomplishment allows youth to stay in the same school system and community until placed permanently. For youth who are at the age of 17 and preparing to ‘age out’ of the system, the long-term placement helps provide transitional living skills such as work experience, financial skills, and preparation for independence.
Jesse’s House now operates in both capacities, as an emergency shelter and a long-term placement, depending on the needs of the child.
