Community Outreach

In 2007, a community needs assessment identified the need for programs to reach at-risk youth in the community. As such, Jesse’s House recognized a need to provide the Girls Circle Program for at-risk female youth living in the community. Recognizing the importance of reaching girls before they engage in negative behaviors, Jesse’s House teamed up with the school system and the Forsyth County Department of Juvenile Justice to conduct a pilot program for the Girls Circle Outreach. The goal of this grant is to use Jesse’s House Girls Circle Outreach to reach approximately 42 youth annually. The youth, referred from school and court, are at a high-risk for school drop-out, substance abuse, delinquency, and teen pregnancy.
