Graduation Rates: Kids In The System vs. Kids At Jesse's House

​It’s finally May and for many students that also means it is finally graduation time. Regardless of where the diploma is coming from, all graduations are worthy of celebration because it is a big achievement and testament to a great deal of hard work. In honor of this season, we would like to congratulate the high school seniors of Jesse’s House for another year of 100% on-time graduation!

Reaching the end of an academic career is bittersweet as you can finally see everything you have been working for right in front of you. The late nights spent studying for a test, trying to find the motivation to get all that homework done, and of course, dealing with the stresses of day-to-day life have finally led you to the end of a chapter. It certainly is not a bump-free road to travel down, especially if you had to deal with struggles outside of school. For students in the foster care system those struggles might have been particularly burdensome and may have even resulted in a delayed graduation or no graduation at all.
