It’s finally May and for many students that also means it is finally graduation time. Regardless of where the diploma is coming from, all graduations are worthy of celebration because it is a big achievement and testament to a great deal of hard work. In honor of this season, we would like to congratulate the high school seniors of Jesse’s House for another year of 100% on-time graduation!
Reaching the end of an academic career is bittersweet as you can finally see everything you have been working for right in front of you. The late nights spent studying for a test, trying to find the motivation to get all that homework done, and of course, dealing with the stresses of day-to-day life have finally led you to the end of a chapter. It certainly is not a bump-free road to travel down, especially if you had to deal with struggles outside of school. For students in the foster care system those struggles might have been particularly burdensome and may have even resulted in a delayed graduation or no graduation at all.

National Child Abuse Prevention Month starts April 1st and we want to bring awareness to the unfortunate reality of the child abuse statistics in the United States. If you have never experienced child abuse or known someone who has suffered, it might not be a thought that has crossed your mind. Being knowledgeable of this information is crucial for continuing advocacy and positive change, through organizations like Jesse’s House. We have provided a run-down on the subject so that you can stay informed, raise awareness, and help make a difference this April.
What better way to start off the new year, than by giving back? Help those in need, and feel good about your effort to make a difference!

Girls who are experiencing abuse and/or neglect in their current living situation are subjected to facing significantly greater hardships. And the repercussions associated have tendencies to send them into a downward spiral.
Our mission at Jesse’s House is to save girls from these sad situations that are unfortunately out of their control. Everyone deserves safety, love, and a chance to become something bigger than their hardships. Help us help them! Whether a monetary donation, giving clothing and other supplies or volunteering, every little bit is appreciated by us and the girls!
